A brief background:
In 1981 a Boeing 707 was sent to pick up the 55 hostages from Iran, who had been held captive for 444 days. That same airplane has also been used as Airforce One and flown the President of the United States around the country.
It’s a spectacular history of a plane with significant importance. Sadly once the plane was retired, it feel into disrepair and neglect.
This past February, a team of volunteers teamed up to restore the Freedom One and get it back to its former glory. They cleaned the plane and its parts, removed severe oxidation and polished or painted as needed.
Over 560 hours of labor was put in the restoration of the Freedom One.
During the restoration, crew and volunteers wore custom printed t-shirts from shoplts.com.
The team shose a navy Gildan t-shirt with a 1-color screen printed front and a 5-color custom design on the back.
